Materials & Techniques: Expertise in Every Metal Since 1906

For over a century, Goldsteen Metal Manufacturing & Design has been renowned for craftsmanship in metal. We combine traditional blacksmithing and restoration with modern techniques such as turning, milling, and welding. Thanks to our extensive experience, we not only execute but also advise on the best material choice for every project. In addition, we hold welding certificates for steel and stainless steel.

Our materials:

• Steel and stainless steel (inox) –
perfect for gates, industrial frames, protective constructions, and outdoor projects.
• Brass – warm and elegant; ideal for ornaments, furniture, and restoration.
• Copper – timeless, used in restoration and design; naturally develops patina.
• Tin – traditional material, especially for antique restoration.
• Bronze – expertise in restoring and working existing cast pieces and antiques.
• Cast alloys – in-depth knowledge for machining, repair, and advice.

Our techniques:

• Blacksmithing
• Conventional turning and milling
• Welding and constructions
• Restoration
• Patination and chemical coloring

Historical techniques / knowledge:

In addition to our current techniques, Goldsteen has extensive knowledge of traditional methods such as spinning, gilding, silver plating, copper plating, and vermessingen (a historical brass surface treatment). Although we no longer perform these processes ourselves due to environmental regulations, our expertise allows us to recognize and restore existing objects and to advise clients on preserving valuable pieces.

Your partner in design and execution:

Goldsteen develops simple constructions in-house but mainly collaborates with designers, architects, and companies. We make their ideas feasible, select the right materials, and ensure both durability and aesthetics.
